Under veil of firmament,
We feel distance, expanse.
But little know how close,
How just at the edge,
How just underneath
Other world of worlds.

Feel it slice through.
Touch where nothing can see.
Look indirectly, obliquely, askance.
Listen to pauses and silences.
Taste ozone, earth, thunder clouds.
Smell cookies baked across the divide.

Fast held to this plane;
We can not step across.
Not deciding is no solution, 
In that, we deny birth
To countless worlds and
Then we are mass murderers.
